NEW BOAS, SAME PRESSURE

Roman Abramovich has embarked on his biggest gamble since buying Chelsea Football Club in 2003 .
He has, in those 8 years spent a vast fortune of money trying to turn the London club into a major player on the world scene , achieving domestic success in winning the league title 3 times  and qualifying for the Champions League in every season of his reign as owner is clearly not enough !.
Most clubs would be satisfied with this level of achievement, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham all arguably bigger clubs than Chelsea before Abramovich's arrival can only look on in envy at their accomplishments .

The pressure of not achieving Abramovich's dream of champions league glory has been the undoing
of all of Chelsea's last 5 managers, despite Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti delivering domestic glory.

A new man has been given a huge opportunity at the tender age of 33 to make history at Stamford Bridge .
Andre Villas-Boas is the next man to try and achieve the impossible dream for the Russian billionaire .  Despite the obvious inexperience , he is highly regarded after a successful short spell at Portuguese giants Porto .

Whether he is able to gain the respect from the Chelsea players will remain to be seen, new signings and a winning start will help, but as other highly regarded and more experienced ex managers will testify , winning club footballs biggest prize is the only way to keep your job .

Barcelona, in the last 2 previous years have been far too good for all challengers ,  it will be very difficult for Chelsea even with unlimited resources to overcome the mighty Spanish champions.
