13 - 3 AS LONDON TEAMS GET BATTERED

Few fans would argue that after only 3 league games , the premier league title is looking like a two horse race .
Arsenal , with the team heavily depleted through injuries and suspensions, would only have had a glimmer of a hope at gaining a draw from their trip to Old Trafford before a ball was kicked .
Tottenham , finished last season in 5th place and outside the Champions League places and have made no significant improvements to the squad in the transfer market unlike Sundays opponents,
Manchester City who qualified in 3rd place and have since made monumental strides in making their squad even stronger with some superb signings .
If you stand still in this league you go backwards and the disastrous starts to the 2011/ 12 season made by Arsenal and Spurs have shown that they are under pressure to bring in some fresh faces before the transfer market closes on 31st August .
The defeats suffered by the London clubs confirm that they are well short of the quality needed to compete at the top of the Premier League.
The way that Arsenal were dismantled  8 - 2 by Wayne Rooney and co yesterday must have been humiliating for gunners fans to witness and there were no reasons to be cheerful at White Hart Lane either as a Hat-trick by Edin Dzeko for Man City thumped Harry Redknapp's Spurs 5 - 1 .
A team from Manchester will finish top this year with Chelsea and Liverpool the only other viable challengers .
Arsenal and Tottenham , will have a tougher fight to keep hold of their better players like Robin Van Persie , Luka Modric and Gareth Bale if they don't bridge the widening gap between themselves and the two sides who handed out the thrashings this weekend .
