TALENT SHOWS, WITHOUT TALENT ?

As far as these shows go , I can honestly say that I don't watch them but its almost impossible to avoid knowing the outcomes or hearing about the inane gossip surrounding the 'acts' involved .
Simon Cowell has produced these programmes since 2002 and although they have grown in popularity year on year , it is hard to remember too many of the shows winners becoming big stars , despite the massive financial backing and public support .
Life changing situations often change people for the worst , finding it difficult to cope with the overwhelming pressure to succeed and the sudden upheaval in their private lives with the constant press intrusion .

There have been some good young talent coming through on the singing competition X Factor , but to be catapulted to major star status off the back of singing cover versions of Abba and Bee Gees songs is premature and laughable .

This years Britain's Got Talent competition was unbelievably poor , the major story being  ' fix ' claims involving a 12 year old boy. The ' talent ' was so rubbish , not even their own mothers would pay to watch them perform .
How some of them made it through to the final God only knows , but then Simon Cowell is the boss and he doesn't like to be overshadowed for too long by any class act.
I know there are a lot of people who enjoy watching bad acts almost as much as the good ones , but the show does have the word ' talent ' in the title , it just would be nice to see that Britain still had some .
