SCAPEGOAT GRANT, NOT THE ONLY FAILURE

This is Avram Grant , the former West Ham football manager , blamed for the relegation to the championship and is the sole scapegoat for a team littered with under-achieving, overpaid , so called star players . 

People will , and do say that its the manager who should galvanise the players and is ultimately responsible for results , but despite getting some criticism the players do not lose their jobs. They can, despite being contracted apply a release cause and leave to preserve their reputations elsewhere if they wish .

Now that this team has dropped out of the top flight , I wonder how many of these stars will roll up their sleeves and fight tooth and nail to get this well supported club back up to where their fans believe they belong.

Some players contracts will come to an end and others will have to be sold to reduce the wage bill , so it will be a safe bet to suggest that the squad will change dramatically in the summer break.
It would be a refreshing change to see some of the players responsible for this seasons demise , staying to try and gain promotion at the first chance , next season . There is little hope of that.

We all know that loyalty doesn't exist any more in football , whether its players , managers or owners
and as the wealth continues to pour into the English game we can't expect tomorrows' fans heroes' to be any different .
